Pharmacy Open Day - 1 September
You're invited to the UQ School of Pharmacy Open Day on Sunday 1 September, 2013. Students with an interest in Health along with parents, teachers and careers advisors are invited to attend the day and explore the unique facilities, talk to current Pharmacy students and experience hands-on activities, tours and mini-lectures. Auditions for 2014 entry into the Bachelor of Music will be held on the weekend of 21 and 22 September and on Saturday 5 October. Audition applications forms are now available on the website and are due by 12 August.

NEW Mater QTAC Codes
The UQ School of Nursing and Midwifery is the only School of Nursing and Midwifery
to offer intensive clinical learning to undergraduate students through Clinical Schools.Thanks to our extensive partnership with major teaching hospitals throughout South East Queensland, students will be able to select from 7 Clinical Schools including the UQ/Mater clinical school.
New for 2014 - students will be able to nominate the Mater as their clinical school using new Mater QTAC Codes:

NEW Bridging Programs - St Lucia campus
UQ College is delivering courses in Mathematics and Biology in intensive mode over a four week period in November/December 2013. Successful completion of these courses will satisfy the pre-requisite requirements in Maths B and Biology at UQ.
Key dates: Tuesday November 19 to Saturday December 14. Students attend 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday, with 4 Saturday Tutorials, of which 3 are optional. Results will be available to be used in applications for the January 2014 QTAC Offer Round.
How to apply: To determine eligibility for this program, it is important that students complete an application form located on the UQ College website. Completed application forms can be returned through email or post.

International Student Pathway to Study Business - September
UQ College now has a Business pathway for Year 12 International Students. If students would like to undertake higher education studies through pathways that will boost there study and career opportunities, UQ College is the place for them. By choosing to study at UQ College, they will be supported to achieve their potential through a student-centred learning approach, small classes, specialist teachers and excellent facilities.
UQ College's Associate Degree in Business, is now open to international students. Successful completion of this UQ accredited degree provides a strong standalone qualification and, upon meeting specific standards, seamless entry into the fourth semester of UQ's Bachelor of Business Management.

Tertiary Preparation Program, St Lucia – September

2013 Academic Scholarships now open
Students can now apply for a UQ Academic Scholarship. High-achieving students, particularly those with significant leadership and /or community service achievements during their senior studies, are encouraged to apply via the online application form from August 1, 2013. Around 100 Academic Scholarships, valued between $6,000 for the first year of study to $60,000 over 5 years, will be awarded. Applications close Wednesday 31 October 2013. Successful students notified within 1 week of the release of Year 12 results.

2013 UQ-Link Access Program
The UQ-Link Access Program helps financially disadvantaged students to study at UQ by:
- awarding 5 bonus ranks to assist entry to a UQ program
- awarding a $500 Start-up Bursary upon enrolment at UQ
- Giving further consideration for one of a limited number of UQ-Link Access scholarships valued at $3,000 per year for 4 years.
To apply, students should complete the 'Financial Hardship' category of EAS when completing their online QTAC Application Form. Approved applicants will be notified in December 2013. Students wishing to be considered for a UQ-Link Access Scholarship (awarded in early January 2014) should submit all EAS documentation to QTAC by 16 December, 2013.

ICT Excellence Scholarships - Applications open now
In view of a growing shortage of ICT graduates, The University of Queensland and its industry partners continue to encourage and support school-leavers to join programs leading to careers in the Information and Communications Technology industry.
2014 ICT Excellence Scholarships, worth $3000 each, are available to commencing students in the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Multimedia Design or Bachelor of Engineering (Software or Electrical & Computer).
Applications open on 1 August & close on 31 December 2013.
