CQU Vocal Boot Camp

The following information is from CQU:

We use our voices to communicate every single day but those of us who use it in business, make presentations or speak at important meetings, underestimate how critically important our voice actually is – the pitch, the volume, the tone, the pace, even the very bio-the mechanics of it.

During this workshop you will develop a wide range of strong physical movements without tension for optimal vocal output. You’ll learn the secrets to breathing control and endurance as demonstrated by effective speakers who present with a well aligned upright posture, deep relaxed breathing skills and effective voice production and projection.

The workshop follows a fun, interactive format with audio-visual presentations of essential information complimented by a wide range of practical and functional voice activities which will teach you;
 ·                   how different sounds of your voice can be produced and manipulated for a range of presentation interactions
·                   optimal ways to posture your body to breathe efficiently and effectively to support your voice
·                   easy strategies to enhance the health of your voice

Information about state-subsidised services for post school training

For some early leavers and Year 12 completers, the transition is smooth, while others face challenges finding the right pathway.

With this in mind, the Department of Education and Training is offering a service to all school leavers to provide them with information on State-subsidised programs and services, including Skilling Queenslanders for Work projects.

Students can register their interest by texting YES to 0476 850 648 to receive monthly text prompts in 2017. This will help keep students in touch with training opportunities. Students will also have the option to request more individualised information, as well as being able to opt out from the service at any time.
