LEAD Scholarships

Students who experience difficult circumstances or setbacks during their schooling can now apply for UQ's Leadership, Excellence and Diversity (LEAD) Scholarship. Previously, this scholarship has only been available to those students enrolled in an Australian State High School. This year, we are pleased to extend this opportunity to students from all schools across Australia.

Each LEAD Scholarship offers financial assistance of $8000 per year for up to five years, a dedicated academic mentor, a support network through non-residential membership of a UQ college and priority access to valuable internship and career planning assistance.

Applications for the LEAD Scholarship close on 15 November 2019.

The Liveris Academy Undergraduate Scholarship

The Liveris Academy Undergraduate Scholarship was established in 2019 by global business leader Andrew N. Liveris and his wife Paula Liveris, who generously donated $13.5 million to the University of Queensland to help establish the Andrew N. Liveris Academy for Innovation and Leadership in the University's Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology.

The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and support outstanding students in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or in the integrated Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Master of Engineering program at The University of Queensland, who have the potential to lead solutions to some of the world's most pressing sustainability challenges.

The scholarship offers financial assistance of $10,000 per annum for up to 6 years. Recipients may also receive up to $10,000 travel support from the Liveris Academy for an approved Gap Semester, exchange or internship opportunities.

University of the Sunshine Coast Early Offer Guarantee

An Early Offer Guarantee gives Year 12 students the opportunity to receive an early and guaranteed place at USC in November, before the release of their results. Gordonvale State High School is registered for the Early Offer Guarantee, so our students can apply for it.

The Early Offer Guarantee is for Year 12 students who want to get their uni offer sorted as soon as possible. If your Year 12 results show you’re on track to succeed in your preferred USC degree and you have the right level of motivation and commitment, you can secure an offer as early as November — before final results and OPs are released.

To apply, you’ll need Ms Barry’s approval. She will consider your academic performance, motivation to succeed, and personal qualities like your interests, passion and talents. You don’t need to be OP eligible to apply, but you do need to demonstrate a level of academic performance and potential in line with the OP/rank minimum selection threshold for your preferred program. The Early Offer Guarantee is no free ride and all normal course prerequisites still apply. See this link (and me in B13) for further information.
