Due to a large demand for Gap
Year placements in 2016, the ADF Gap Year program will now be made available
for application up until March 27th.
As per the original
correspondence from Defence Head Quarters , Gap Year is a fantastic program for
young Australians who have finished year 12 (or equivalent) and are aged
between 17 years and 24 years old.
This is such a great
opportunity for candidates to experience military training and lifestyle whilst
gaining new skills and pay over their Gap Year.
Across the Navy, Army and Air
Force, candidates will learn life skills and have on the job training that will
be used throughout their journey at Gap Year and will be incredibly valuable,
regardless of what career these candidates ultimately undertake.
During
Gap Year, the candidates will undergo basic recruit training and specific trade
training, and will be immersed in the Navy, Army or Air Force lifestyle while
continuing to learn on the job. Aside from learning valuable skills,
candidates
will meet new friends and may even receive recognised qualifications to help
progress your future career.
