The NIDA Staging course develops students' understanding
and ability across all aspects of staging. The course includes opportunities to
experience a professional working environment through industry placements as
well as the staging of NIDA events and productions.
Working with industry experts, you’ll develop
a sophisticated understanding of how to apply the principles of science,
engineering, construction and communications management to bring performances
in theatre, opera, music, film, television and events to life. This course is
the only one of its type offered in Australia, and one of a few in the world.
You’ll learn about performance history, current staging practice, staging
engineering, stage rigging, as well as project management.
