Medics are offering exciting projects for students that are looking to apply for university courses in medicine, nursing, dentistry or midwifery.
The programmes combine healthcare experience with a once in a lifetime travel experience too.
For students thinking of applying for a healthcare related degree, the Gap Medics programmes offer hospital work experience which is needed before applying for medicine and to see if a career in healthcare is appealing.
The program is open to Year 11 and Year 12 students who are looking to apply for healthcare related university courses in Australia.
Placements run every weekend of the year in The Caribbean, Tanzania, India and Thailand so students can choose any weekend of the year to travel on.
Gap Medics are the leading provider of short-term healthcare work experience placements abroad. We are based in the UK and our programmes are open to all students from around the world and are particularly popular with Australian students.
During weekdays, students will shadow highly skilled doctors in their day-to-day work on a fully-supervised hospital placement.
Students will also have the benefit of clinical teaching, safe and secure accommodation in the Gap Medics students house, food, transfers in country, local orientations, 24/7 support from teams overseas and in the UK and lots of help with preparations for their trip too.
