Social media
includes web-based and mobile technologies used to turn communication into
interactive dialogue. Most airlines and companies around the world have created
departments to monitor social media. It is extremely important to be aware that
companies will read all social media sites and all comments – positive and
negative. If negative comments directed at the company or ‘security sensitive’
information is exposed, disciplinary action may follow with possible
termination of employment. Social medial encompasses chat sites, internet forums, weblogs, social blogs, microblogging, vlogs, podcasts,
photographs, wall posting, social networking sites, pictures, video, rating
and social book marking. Information sharing, particularly about company interview
techniques is widely used in social media.
