Robotics Workshop for Teachers - 7 May
The Robotics Workshop for Teachers has been designed to offer in-service robotics training for teachers who are keen to support their students to actively participate in the area of robotics. The workshop combines the Introduction to Robotics and Artificial Intelligence workshops and covers topics such as programming robots using modifiers, events, containers, task split, infinite and finite loops.

Register now for FEAST June 30 - July 4
Future Experiences in Agriculture, Science and Technology (FEAST) is a five day residential program at UQ Gatton, designed to inspire and inform Years 11 and 12 students about the exciting and rewarding science careers in the agriculture, animal and food sectors.

Students will explore science disciplines through hands on activities and workshops run by UQ staff and Industry and discover the career outcomes and opportunities for their future. Students will experience University life and expand their knowledge of UQ study options, programs, careers and campus life.

2013 Young ICT Explorers Competion - Registrations Open!
Young ICT Explorers is a Queensland competition for school students in Years 4 - 12 which is an opportunity for students to produce and display their best Information and Communication Technology related projects, with the chance to win great prizes and acclaim from their peers as well as academic and industry leaders in the field. Teams can have up to four students and projects can be anything from mobile applications, computer games and websites to robotics, short films or animation. The best teams will be invited to a judging event to be held at UQ St Lucia on August 10.

National Youth Science Forum
The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) is the only program in Australia that offers current Year 11 students the chance to test-drive a wide range of universities and careers in the sciences. In addition to sessions in Canberra and Perth, an NYSF session at UQ's Gatton Campus will also be offered for the first time in January 2014. Applications for the 2014 Forum will close at the end of May 2013.

Bachelor of Education - 2016
The following pre-requisite changes will affect the Bachelor of Education, commencing semester 1, 2016.

The Bachelor of Education (Primary) and the Bachelor of Education (Middle Years of Schooling) are required to include four semesters with Sound Achievement in:
• English
• One of Maths A, Maths B or Maths C
• One of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science, Marine Science, Earth
  Science or Science 21

The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) dual programs are required to include four semesters with Sound Achievement in:
• English
• One of Maths A, Maths B or Maths C
