Sports Scholarships to American Universities

Please find following, a message I received regarding sports scholarships to study at univerisites in America. If you would like a copy of the application form or "pros and Cons brochure" please see me in the Guidance Office.

AUS Recruit helps students not only receive sports scholarships to American Universities; they help families through the process.

Over 500,000 student-athletes compete in University Sport each year. More than $2 billion a year is given in sports scholarships. Many of these scholarships are going unused. The depth just isn't there in the States, so they are now looking more internationally. We currently have several athletes that have been offered NCAA DIV 1 scholarships worth over $200,000.

These sports scholarships aren't just about ability. It's such a confusing process. Grade Point Average, Subject Selections, Registering for NCAA and NAIA, sitting the SATs, what's an offer, when can I sign, if I play in a particular league do I still qualify....... there are so many reasons why our athletes don't get to play in these competitions, when they clearly have the ability to do so.

I am based in Brisbane, but will be in Cairns from 3rd April - 6th April for any athletes interested in pursuing this pathway when they finish high school. At this stage we are looking for athletes in year 11, 12 students and those who have just graduated - so 1997 - 1995 born athletes.

We can help with the following sports and competitions -

In NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA competitions

Girls - Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Swimming, Diving, Tennis, Golf, Softball, Field Hockey, Rowing, Water Polo.

Boys - American Football, Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field, Cross Country, Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, Swimming, Diving, Baseball and Water Polo.

I know there are some talented athletes in Cairns, and I would love to help those athletes out.

The first step is for the athletes to be assessed. Its hard to say how we can help the athlete until they have been assessed by our American Office, but any athlete who represents their club or school should apply. Those who are successful will be contacted prior to April 2nd - to be given the opportunity for an interview to discuss how we can help them and invited to join our program. There is no obligation. Assessment form must be emailed back to me by March 27th 2013.
